Come on in for delicious, locally-roasted coffee brews and rich, smooth espresso. We bake our own pastries fresh each morning and make our own flavored cream cheeses for our tempting bagels. We also offer a light fare menu of sandwiches, wraps, soups and desserts. Great music and friendly to all! Look for our organic and free-trade coffees and iced and blended drinks.

Atmosphere - Very friendly place with lots of comfy seating - I liked the family friendly back area with padded seats and a selection of books - even kids books. Great views onto Belmont
Food - I did not try the food but hear it is good
Beverages - The coffee was excellent

Atmosphere - I love the feel of this place. Bright, funky, hip, without being obnoxious. Painted doors make partial walls, and plants add greenery. There's a password for the wireless and it didn't work, which drops this otherwise great spot way down for me.
Food - Homemade pastries and lunch-able food.
Beverages - Delicious espresso and coffee. A nice selection of juices and iced teas in the fridge case.
Late hours, although some nights they have live music (didgereedoos!?, bad jazz), but wi-fi + late h

Atmosphere - The building itself is great. Large windows - nice wood floors. It has potential to be a really great place. Unfortunately as CAB bellow has commented, the over all feel of the place is kind of like an indy-Starbucks vibe. The music is upsettingly bad. I think I've heard Enya in there a few times as well. But in fact if you open up your itunes while you are there - you can look thru their entire playlist. It's pretty sad. But aside from music, which is often loud, the general vibe is pretty new-age, hippy, adult slacker vibe.
Food - Never had any of their food items. Oh no, I had a croissant once. It wasn't too bad.
Beverages - The coffee is alright. They are located down the street about 5 blocks from what is rated as one of the best coffee maker/brewers in the world. So I would advise them to try a little harder, but part of Stumptown's greatness is the hype. That said - The espresso drinks are OK. The drip coffee is actually nice - nice and dark, and well brewed. The shots - i'd say they need a little work on. Steaming other milks besides Cow Milk - they need major work on. There you go...
Excellent local coffeehouse with great atmosphere.

Atmosphere - High gold-painted ceiling, African art on the walls, wooden floors, vibrant colors, artsy lighting fixtures to distract your homework-burdened mind, barista-selected appropriate background music. Very soulful and happy environment. Baristas polite and chatty. A lot of love and attention went into creating this place.
Food - Wow, those brownies are sweet. Do half now, half tomorrow at home. Haven't tried the rest, but all look good.
Beverages - The coffee's hot and keeps me studying (not a big coffee fan *gasp*).
All around rock solid coffee shop. They're doing it all right.

Atmosphere - Muddy Waters is taking on character remarkably quickly for such a new place. They've only been open for three weeks or so and it already feels like it's an old neighborhood standard -- in all the right ways. Solid wi-fi connection. Large tabletops. Great place to socialize or work.
Food - The food is fresh and good. It would stand on its own anywhere, but is especially good compared to typical coffee shop fare. I've had soup, breakfast sandwiches, savory scones -- all have been outstanding.
Beverages - They serve locally brewed CBI coffee. It hasn't displaced any of my favorites, but it's fine coffee well prepared. Very good.
