    Beverages - 10/8/06 Floyd's Coffe We wanted a coffee drive-through, leaving me prepared for a mediocre (starbucks) or bad (coffee people) latte. Instead we happened on Floyd's Coffee on Morrison. Floyd's being a one-store establishment and having a drive-through window, I was doubtful that the coffee would be good. I was very glad to be proven very wrong. I knew before I took my first sip that this latte would be good: the guy that made it spent time making it well, even topping off the foam with a design that I would never see. It was better than I expected, the first drink was perfect. The foam was smooth and dense, without being heavy, the espresso was sweet and bold, and its presence was strong without being overwhelming. The only thing kept the rest of this latte from being absolute perfection was the smoky finish of Stumptown’s coffee. But for a brief moment that flavor was missing, giving me one sweet, bold, creamy, taste of the perfection I’ve been searching for. milk/espresso balance: 10 foam consistency: 10 espresso flavor: 9 temperature: 10 overall smoothness: 10 Average score: 9.8
